GESF is an initiative by Sunny Varkey, Founder, and Chairman of the Varkey Foundation and takes place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. 

Dubai Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented the winner Peter Tabichi the Prestigious Global Teacher Prize.

His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan delivered the GESF keynote.

Showtech commissioned by George and Burnell powered the sound, audio-visual and lighting solutions for the entire event for the 7th year in succession and expertly planned, designed and executed the technicals, encompassing the Atlantis Ballroom, Spice and Silk Ballrooms, Asateer Tent and the Poolside.

The 360° projection was the hallmark & highlight of the production, creating a wow look and feel, adding grandeur to this high profile event.
